I have just returned from attending NAATBatt’s annual conference in Palm Springs last week. While there I hosted and moderated a panel session on battery life cycle issues.
Aqua Metals was featured in Battery International’s publication today, drawing readers past the cover page with the teaser – “Smelting’s Death Knell” – before proceeding to explore what the future of lead-acid battery recycling looks like without smelting.
As of this filming, the AquaRefinery is nearly fully enclosed in just a short 5 weeks since the first video was filmed on 12/31/15. Take a look — things are coming together quickly!

Our manufacturing line is just about ready so we can begin assembling the modules.
Today, we officially broke ground for construction of our first AquaRefinery in Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center (TRIC) in McCarran, Nevada. Rather than have a bunch of hand shovels spray painted gold, we opted to have some more fun with the groundbreaking event and actually break ground with the yellow metal.
