Ben Taecker, Chief Engineering and Operations Officer, shares an update on the Aqua Metals Li AquaRefining pilot facility in Reno, NV.

Aqua Metals commenced with commissioning the facility at the company’s Innovation Center in Reno, NV in October of 2022, and the pilot become operational in December of 2022 with black mass entering the closed-loop, automated system and recovery of critical minerals initiating.
This pilot is the world’s first sustainable lithium battery recycling operation and the first in North America able to recover all critical minerals from spent batteries at commercial scales.
